What a perfect day for a trail ride. Aside from dozens of acorns falling at will from the spreading live oak tree at the main staging area and one unfortunate rider losing her horse during the ride, it appears that the 64 total riders had a great time and hopefully some new friendships were forged and horse/rider partnerships were solidified.
On behalf of the CCCAHA Board of Directors, Officers and members, we want to thank Phyllis Lindamood and the Lindamood/Bell Foundation for Learning once again for their awesome generosity in allowing us to once again take advantage of the absolutely stunning Riata Ranch in Santa Margarita.
Many of the riders asked for the trail ride results on how well each of you did during the ride. The results of each division are posted below per each division. If you want to have your individual scores sent to you via e-mail, we can do this, but it will be just as easy to simply download the .pdf file and look up your number and score per obstacle. Remember, that for both the Open division and the Youth Division, we had to use a tiebreaker to determine the placings, and in the case of the Novice division, we went to our second tiebreaker to determine the final placing. Many of you had some amazing scores and we also realize that this was the first time for you and/or your horse, so we hope that you got a good feel for the ride and will compete again next year.
Mark your calendars because we will hold the 9th annual Trail Trials on Saturday, October 15th, 2022 again.
Thank you all for participating and we hope to have a caterer next year. Also, if any of you have photos you would like to share, please e-mail them in .jpg, .jpeg, .tiff or .bmp format to email@example.com so we can get them on the website.
We are sad to announce that the upcoming October 23 Open Breed Horse Show is presently cancelled.
This was a difficult decision for us to make, but it is largely due in part to the lack of adequate pre-entries that are vital to the club to make decisions on venues, judges, trail and main arena patterns, caterers, etc.
In the past, we have always been open to people waiting until the last few days before deciding to enter the show, but in this age of COVID-19 and the aftermath of its fallout, many horse clubs promote their activities and events on a "cashless" basis and emphasize early entries for the show. CCCAHA is no different and as you may have seen from the entry forms and earlier posts, we were not equipped to accept ANY late entries on the day of the show, and as such, we were counting on enough early entries to make the show happen. This is the first time in many years that we have had no Open Breed Show at all, and we are saddened by this.
We thank those of you who did enter early and we are working hard to set up a 3 show schedule beginning in early 2022 and hopefully we will get the attendance that we know this community can provide.
Stay tuned to this website and our Facebook page for more events coming up in 2022.
